Robe

One of South Australia's best kept secrets

Robe is situated 340km south-east of Adelaide and 580km north-west of Melbourne. This quality 4-star accommodation is ideally located for exploring the South East of South Australia.

The attraction Robe boasts is what other popular tourist destinations do not. It is remarkably untouched by commercialism.

The State Governor in the 1850’s was known to take his summer holidays in Robe staying at Karratta House. Today people from all walks of life continue to come to Robe to enjoy the ambience of the historic buildings, the wild southern ocean and beautiful beaches, the distinctive local produce and wine regions.

SUPPORT
LOCAL

People who visit Robe, South Australia tend to stay more than one day, and take short day trips to other townships within the Limestone Coast Region. As you can see there are plenty of options within a short drive and it is “the spot to stop!”

The surrounding coastal area varies from the picturesque boat harbour, rugged cliffs of Cape Dombey to the tranquil country of the lakes. These areas offer endless opportunities to hike, paint, ski, swim, bird watch, sail, surf or just relax. Tourism and Cray fishing are the predominant industries in our town with the surrounding district involved in the production of wool, beef cattle, lambs, wines, aquaculture and some cereal crops. Crayfish are prepared for the domestic and export markets at factories, one of which is on the shores of Lake Butler boat harbour, the base for the local fishing fleet. Here crays are landed fresh just about every day from October through to April. All factories offer sales of freshly cooked crayfish.

Robe South Australia has so much to offer.

Why not stay for a while and enjoy making your very own Robe experience?
